Dear MSC swimmers and parents,

We are currently in the middle of our short course season. Our swimmers will be working hard during Christmas break as we prepare for the Championship meets and Season Finale. Here are the latest news items and announcements for the month of December:

SWIM –A – THON

Our swimmers did an amazing job raising money for our team. We raised $12,046.21! It is over $500 more than was raised last year. Please see below the 3 swimmers that raised the most money:

Kole Preston: $540.00

Ashley Kniola: $425.00

Alex Foutch: $390.00

HUSKY INVITATIONAL

Last weekend our top swimmers raced at the 63rd Husky Invitational in Federal Way, WA. This year the meet was opened for college teams and our kids had the opportunity to swim against many high level athletes. The results were amazing with our kids getting over 75% of lifetime best times.

TEAM RECORDS

Swimming at the Husky Invitational, Brooklyn Neubig and Matt Valentine broke 2 team records.

Brooklyn Neubig broke the 200 backstroke team record with 2:10.13. The old record was from Kathryn Sampson with 2:10.84.

Matt Valentine broke the 200 butterfly team record with 1:56.49. His old record was 1:57.70

EUGENE MEET

I will post the sign-up sheet for the Winter Invitational in Eugene early this week. It will be posted on the bulletin board until 12/17/11. For the swimmers that are not qualified for the state championships this will be one of the last meets of the season. I hope that many swimmers can attend. High school swimmers will be allowed to swim this meet on Sunday only since on Saturday we will be swimming the Rumbaugh high school invitational in Corvallis.

DUAL MEET: MSC vs. CST

This Saturday, December 17th, our team will be racing against the Chehalem swim team from Newberg. Warm-ups will start at 8am, meet will start at 9am. If you signed your swimmer up for the meet, please plan on helping us time.
